Most if not all, political cartoonists keep their process behind a paywall or reserve it for subscribers. They keep all their cartoons for those who pay, privately. I can’t do that. I want everyone to see. I’ve shared mine openly, for free every sketch, every step. I work at the pleasure of the President, and my greatest hope is that museums will one day acquire my framed prints, ensuring these moments live on for generations.
I could never lock my work away for “members only.” My art is part of our shared story.
