Inspired by President Donald Trump’s New York speech on crime, cashless bail, sanctuary policies, repeat offenders, and the peculiar reality of ordinary pharmacy products being kept behind lock and key.

During the speech, Trump described seeing toothbrushes, toothpaste, Dove soap, and shampoo secured behind glass in a New York drugstore. He even joked about hair products making your hair look “4%” fuller.

Artist Maria Grasmick transforms that moment into a surreal New York pharmacy: Trump confronts harmless toiletries held under maximum security while a colorful collection of mischievous gremlins—symbolizing cashless bail, sanctuary policies, repeat offenders, shoplifting, open borders, and other themes raised during the speech—remain out in the open.

A further visual reference depicts New York Attorney General Letitia James and Trump’s statement during the same speech that she “got off on a technicality.”
