CIA director John Rattcliffe Political Cartoon

Today’s political cartoon, The Director, draws from CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s description of a rescue mission as “comparable to hunting for a single grain of sand in the middle of a desert,” and translates that idea into a visual study of intelligence and perception. Set against a vast desert with faint geographic overlays, the piece reflects a real-world deception campaign..multiple false signals, scattered directions, and deliberate misdirection..while a single, nearly invisible point of truth remains. President Donald Trump’s remark that Ratcliffe was “central casting” for the role underscores the theme: leadership as both presence and precision. Framed as a 1930s NOIR style film poster, this work explores the tension between what is seen and what is known, where power lies not in the noise, but in the ability to identify the signal. ONE GRAIN OF SAND he FOUND.
