In times of political violence, language becomes the ultimate escape hatch.
My latest cartoon, Say It Like a Therapist, captures a live TV moment that never happened..but might as well have. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, under scrutiny for his inflammatory anti-ICE remarks (“To ICE, get the f*** out of Minneapolis”), is surrounded by whispering handlers legal advisors, radical PR creatures, and one particularly desperate Governor Tim Walz in the corner, shouting last minute edits from the wings. Jacob does and eats what he is told to.
This piece was born out of real quotes.
Frey did tell federal agents to leave.
Walz did call the federal presence an “occupation.”
And both, facing backlash and legal heat, have scrambled to recast their language
The cartoon asks:
When elected officials say “protest,” but the crowd hears “riot,” who’s responsible?
When they frame obstruction as “healing,” do the laws still apply?
And when lawyers start scripting press conferences, is anyone actually leading?
Say It Like a Therapist is not just a cartoon a political cartoon, it’s a study in plausible deniability
Consider supporting the work if you believe artists should say what politicians won’t.

That is a timelapse. I hope you enjoy this post. I should spend some time on it. But I am an artist, and my cartoons speak for me. It was hard yes. I started around 11 am and it is 5:30 pm now and I want to get it over with so I can relax..and tomorrow is a new day. I am going to give my all in my cartoons and do my best for you.
