This week’s political cartoon captures a perfect moment of elite absurdity.
On the stage of the World Economic Forum, French President Emmanuel Macron in his signature sunglasses clutches an upside-down map of Greenland and declares, in thick diplomatic confusion:
“Mon dieu! I do not un-dairstand what you are doing on zee Greenland!”
Opposite him, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, cool and unbothered, holds a bottle of lavender essential oil and replies with surgical calm:
“Sit back. Relax. Calm down the hysteria. Take a deep breath.”
That line is no punchline. It’s a direct quote from Bessent’s real remarks to European leaders this week as the Trump administration’s Greenland strategy stirred predictable panic from the globalist class.
And Macron? His map mishap mirrors his now-viral 2025 debacle when he presented a Upside down map, it was, the factcheckers said it was not.. but it was inverted.. “perspective map” to explain the Ukraine war…weeks of mockery.
